Let’s just get this out of the way

I was recently advised by a reader to write “more appropriately” so as to reach a wider audience. I’ve received similar messages on Reddit, where I’ve been writing for quite  bit longer (you can see my posts here).

To them I say this, “I appreciate the fact that you have given my writing your time and attention; I truly do. With that said, I do not appreciate your time and attention more than the message that I am putting out. I will not curb my language nor will I ‘cater’ the content of my writing so you can feel more comfortable with what I have to say.

I will give you three examples of the most common complaints I receive.

  1. You should swear less. – I was in the Navy for 8 years, I can’t fucking help it.
  2. You shouldn’t say you manipulate women. – But I do, I use my knowledge of the female psyche to get what I want. MY wife is happy, the women in my life are happy; you really don’t need to worry.
  3. You’re a man, what do you know of discrimination. – Fuck. You.

To every response and person who has ever asked me to tailor my message so they could better digest it, I present you with this:

THIS is why I write

THIS is why I write

Men are literally dying over the issue of repressed masculinity and nobody seems to care. I understand men are disposable, it’s the way of life for our species. But that does not mean it should simply be ignored.

We live and we die, that is also a fact of life, yet we can discuss it to the end of our days. I say we can discuss living as men and ways for guys to express and NOT repress who they are and what they represent in any manner that we please. If it bothers you then I want you to take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself, why do I care if other people want to improve?

I write for free, but if you feel the need to compensate for the benefit this article may have provided to you in your life – I’d be most humbled and appreciative.
